02 / THE PASPATI ESTATE · 1860

From the Paspati family
to ours.

The research by Michalis Varlas records the purchase of an estate belonging to the brothers Alexandros and Pavlos Paspati, in Seriotissa, Kampos, by Dimitrios Iakovou Cardassilaris in 1860, for 70,000 grosia.

The property included a house, an orchard, fields and water installations. In the archive, you will discover this story through the surviving documents and photographs.

A moment
that survived.

People can be seen in the porch in the old photograph. We do not know their names or when it was taken. We keep the moment as it reached us, together with its provenance.

In the family archive, you will also see the authentic photographs behind these illustrations. The details we know remain distinct from what we are still trying to discover.
